renting sucks sometimes

So, my landlady has been promising to take away the old dryer ever since the old one died and she had to replace it. That was 6 months ago. Today, she finally took it away and she was only an hour late (which, for her, is pretty much on time). She also took the carpet out of the laundry room as the drain tends to back up (due to shitty plumbing) and thus soak the carpet. The main reason she took the carpet is because of the awful smell in my place. I don't really notice it, but that could be because I'm used to it or something. So, today I've pretty much scrubbed every surface that I could before she got here and she said that there was still a smell. Because of this, I'm going to say the smell is because  of our blocked/backed up plumbing, rather than anything I've done or haven't scrubbed. I mean, it takes half an hour for my kitchen sink to drain (more if I'm doing laundry at the same time). All this just because they didn't seperate the kitchen from the laundry room's plumbing. The bathroom is fine because it has seperate plumbing. I'm just wondering why they didn't fix the problem before we moved in, when they were doing the original work? It would have saved loads of time and would have been way more convenient in the long run, But because they didn't I'm supposed to expect the plumber on tuesday (if he doesn't have the day off) to come in and fix the problem.
In other news: I have three days of meter reading left!!!

I've been warned by my future supervisor that the receptionist would attempt to make me her bitch. I shall resist. But yay! No more bugs and crazy people and dogs and heatstroke/hypothermia. I have a feeling though, that I'm going to take up walking or something at lunch time just to get rid of all my excess energy and to keep fit. I don't want to gain all the weight I've lost while meter reading. Ohh, and I'll be downtown so I can go see Shakespeare in the Park on my lunch. I'm so excited.

I think you'll still have to deal with crazy people. Kind of the definition of work. However, you will no longer be going into their homes, which is a coupe.

You could join a gym.
